A Taxi Drove Over The Laptop

It’s just another busy day in London. You’re walking briskly toward the corner. The “Walk” sign is just changing to “Don’t Walk,” and you join the tail end of the throng crossing the street. It’s cold. You reach up with one hand to adjust your coat collar to keep the wind out, and as you do, your laptop strap slides off your other shoulder. Your laptop bag bounces off your knee and skitters off to the side. Bucking against the hurrying crowd, you turn around, and just as you start to reach for your laptop, a taxi pulls away from the curb and runs over it. You hear a sickening sound of cracking plastic, and just like that, your laptop ends its time on Earth.

What is your first thought? I’ll tell you what it should be: “Oh, no, I have to buy a new laptop!”

Here is the thought that shouldn’t even cross your mind: “Oh, no, I’ve lost my data!”

Do you worry about data loss? This worry is called “Data Anxiety,” and it’s completely, 100% preventable.

You should have multiple copies of your data, and you should have your data in multiple locations. This is how you prevent Data Anxiety.
